I hate when I get this overwhelming feeling of loneliness where all I want to do is feel your body heat next to mine. I want to be able to reach over and glide my hand over your thigh and just know that I’m being kept safe. I miss feeling like I’m being protected by your arms. It’s like my heart is aching to just be near your beating heart. Maybe it just wants to get in sync with yours and beat to the pattern of yours. I want to feel the warmth of my skin on your skin. Our legs intertwined, and our faces barely touching to the point where it’s almost unbearable to watch you sleep without kissing you. I want to feel your slow and steady breaths on the back of my neck. That always used to send chills down my spine. The only thing that beats falling asleep next to you is waking up next to you. Knowing all it takes is two inches to the right for me to completely invade your side of the bed. Wrapping my arms around you and feeling lucky. Feeling so lucky to have you. To know this deep feeling we call intimacy. To be able to share that feeling with you. When the night time comes, I feel like I’m falling for you. But when the morning comes, that’s when I feel myself being caught by you.
